This full-day symposium will focus on the innovations that have emerged through partnerships between college chemistry departments and pre-service and in-service teachers. The morning session will focus on the innovative ways in which college chemistry departments have become involved in the preparations of pre-service teachers. These partnerships may include, but are not limited to, the discussion of NOYCE and UTeach programs. The afternoon session will turn to focus on how current precollege chemistry teachers are collaborating with college chemistry departments to develop innovations in their classroom. Programs of interest include state and federally funded professional development experiences, Advanced Placement institutes, and technology-based workshops. Presenters from both the precollege and college chemistry communities are invited to submit proposals to this symposium.
